It’s important to stick to a consistent schedule when taking medication, but occasionally things happen that can throw you off our routine. If you miss a dose, don’t panic.

    • If you miss a dose and the next scheduled dose is more than 2 days away (48 hours), take the missed dose as soon as possible
    • If you miss a dose and the next scheduled dose is less than 2 days away (48 hours), do not administer the dose. Take your next dose on the regularly scheduled day
    • If you miss doses for more than 2 weeks, do not use the regular dose except its is 0.25mg (Semaglitide or 2.5mg Tirzepatide). Contact us for further advice on how to restart your treatment
It’s important not to double up on doses to make up for a missed one, as this can lead to unwanted side effects.

  • Side Effects

The most common side effects of this type of medication are gastrointestinal-related issues such as nausea, constipation and heartburn.

Other more serious side effects include pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas), gallbladder issues, kidney disease, low blood sugar levels (hypoglycaemia), diabetic retinopathy, fast heartbeat and allergic reactions.

Those with a family history of thyroid cancer (medullary thyroid carcinoma) and multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2 should avoid taking Semaglutide, Tirzepatide or Liraglutide.

If you experience any of these symptoms and side effects, it’s important to contact us and seek medical attention immediately.

  • Do I need a prescription to order?

ï»żï»żNo, you don’t need a prescription to use our service. Our clinicians can issue you with a private prescription within the service if you’re eligible for treatment.

  • How long does the medication delivery takes?

We endeavour to review and send medication request with 24-48 hours on next day’s delivery. However, if you are new to the UKWeightloss clinic or ordering for first treatment with us, we may need to complete some additional checks to ensure safe prescribing.

Otherwise, once the medication is accepted and approved, injectable treatments will be sent directly to you directly via our partner pharmacies.

Please note that all delivery timescales begin once your treatment has been approved and dispatched, not from the time you place your order.

  • Why do I need a photo or an ID check?

It is a legal requirement for healthcare providers to verify the identity of their patients when requesting prescription medication via an online service. In the same way that you must provide ID to first register with your GP we are required BY LAW to carry out the same identity check on patients when they first register with us.

The check is performed when you submit your registration form – and will be required ONCE ONLY. Existing customers who have not yet provided ID or a photo (as this is a new level of security we have been instructed to implement) will be required to do so when they place their next order.

  • Who can take weight-loss drugs?

Any adult who haven't been able to lose weight through diet and exercise alone whose

Body mass index (BMI) is greater than 30. This means you're living with a condition that involves having too much body fat, called obesity.

BMI is greater than 27. You also have a serious medical problem linked to obesity or overweight, such as diabetes, high cholesterol or high blood pressure.

Before choosing a medicine for you, we will complete a thorough assessment about your history and health challenges and discuss the pros and cons of prescription weight-loss drugs.

These drugs aren't for everyone. For example, you shouldn't take prescription weight-loss drugs if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or you are suffering with type 1 diabetes and etc.

  • How long do I take a weight-loss drug?

How long you take a weight-loss drug depends on whether the drug helps you lose weight. If you've lost enough weight to improve your health and you haven't had serious side effects, we may suggest that you take the drug long term.

If you haven't lost at least 5% of your body weight after taking the full dose of a drug for 3 to 6 months, we will probably change your treatment and switch you to a different weight-loss drug which may be better suited for you. These medications have effect on 95% of the population.

  • What are the treatment / pen prices?

Weight-loss drugs can be expensive and usually between ÂŁ150-ÂŁ250 per month, and needs to be paid for privately.

It is extremely important to think about your long term goal and payment before you commence on the medical assisted weight loss journey. Many people gain back some of the weight they lost when they stop taking weight-loss drugs. But practicing healthy lifestyle habits may help limit weight gain.

  • How well do weight-loss drugs work?

Prescription weight-loss drugs lead to major weight loss compared with an inactive treatment that doesn't use medicine, called a placebo. The combination of weight-loss medicine and lifestyle changes leads to greater weight loss than do lifestyle changes alone.

Taking these drugs for a year can mean a loss of total body weight of 3% to 12% more than that lost with lifestyle changes alone. That may not seem like a lot. But losing 10% to 20% of your total weight and keeping it off can have important health benefits. For example, it can lower blood pressure, blood sugar levels and levels of fats in the blood called triglycerides.ï»ż
