How much water do I drink when using weight loss medication?

When taking weight loss medication there isn't a specific amount of water recommended just for the medication itself. However, it’s generally advised to stay well-hydrated for overall health to support your body's metabolism, particularly while managing weight or blood sugar levels.

General hydration guidelines

- About 8 cups (64 ounces) of water daily for most adults (more if you're physically active or in a hot climate).

- Some people also use the half your body weight in ounces rule: if you weigh 160 pounds, aim for 80 ounces of water daily.

Since Ozempic can cause side effects like nausea, it might help to sip water throughout the day rather than drinking large amounts. Staying hydrated can also support digestion and prevent constipation, which can be a side effect of Ozempic.

If you have any health conditions that impact how much water you should drink (like kidney disease), it’s best to consult your healthcare provider.
